Introducing: Rock & Soar
Rock & Soar is an artistic design studio that creates sculptural lighting installations of style and beauty for interiors.
Rock & Soar’s designs celebrate nature, energy, and harmonious proportions, using high-quality materials and unsurpassed craftsmanship. London designers Monica Polonio and Alison Smith, who share an aesthetic for experimenting with materials, colour, and light, founded Rock & Soar with the support of The Prince’s Trust in 2022. Already commissioned by leading interior design firms to design bespoke lighting installations, their works are gaining interest among UK interior designers and architects working on projects for private residences, hotels, and restaurants.

Clients have the option to play with quantities of decorative components and light units to fit their chosen space. “Each piece is inspired by the innate beauty of nature, the discovery of science, and the respect for traditional techniques, ultimately connected to our shared vision of the freedom to explore visual arts and craft in innovative and creative ways,” says Alison Smith, founder. The style of each design is distinct, elegant, and timeless.
Rock & Soar works on a made-to-order basis with a series of specialist workshops in the UK. Their partners are chosen for exceptional craftsmanship as well as their commitment to preserving skills and traditional techniques with modern technology. Tailoring and customisation of collections and enquiries for bespoke commissions are welcomed by the team. For example, they recently completed the “Storm Sunsets” lighting installation in Bank, London with bespoke colorways and customised sizing of the voluptuous glass globes crafted by Blowfish Bespoke, a spin-off from the ‘Storm’ collection that highlights the beauty of vibrant orange sunsets intertwined with moody storm clouds.
A glass installation that explores the changes of states of eater and its relationship with light.
